Dance melodies, which were called music for the feet, were treated condescendingly in any era. Opera, oratorios and symphonies have always been considered noble genres, but all kinds of quadrille, waltzes and polkas were classified as second-rate creations because of their entertaining nature. And only one Austrian composer managed to change this musical hierarchy, raising melodies for dances to previously unattainable symphonic heights. His name is Johann Strauss. He wrote almost half a thousand works. The works of the talented Strauss Jr. sounded in all corners of the world and continue to occupy a leading position in the repertoire of many theaters.
Rival son
Josef Lanner and Johann Strauss Sr. are considered to be the founders of the “Waltz Dynasty”. Their art seemed unattainable to many. But this was so until their main rival appeared on the horizon. At the origins of The Beatles
It is impossible to even imagine the culture of the past century without the legendary four The Beatles. For at least 20 years they have been a role model not just for musical groups and individual performers, but for entire generations of young people. They were the ones who managed to instill love and peace into the Europeans tormented by the war of the soul of Europeans. GENESIS – Pioneers of Art Rock
The development of rock music in general and its intellectual direction in particular is impossible to imagine without the British band Genesis. It was she who turned into the channel of epic art the avant-garde progressive rock, which was opened by Pink Floyd. If other groups followed the direct connection of classical motifs with modern music, Genesis became the pioneers of art rock – a completely new musical art.
British Genesis
Five members of the Genesis group, who stood at its origins, became one of the most respected figures in the international rock movement. They began their rehearsals while still young students. This happened within the walls of the famous English Charterhouse school. The original composition of Genesis was formed due to the merger of the two school groups. Peter Gabriel was engaged in vocals, Tony Banks became the keyboard player, Anthony’s Genesis Phillips became the guitarist, Mike Rutherford played the bass guitar, and Chris Stewart conjured for the drum set.
