MADONNA – THE QUEEN OF POP MUSIC

In musical culture, personalities of this magnitude rarely appear, the more valuable is their contribution to world history. Perhaps it sounds rather pathetic, but we were lucky to live at the same time with such people, because not everyone has the opportunity to touch the work of those who are recognized as cult during life. Undoubtedly, one of these favorites is the magnificent Madonna. Her merits are appreciated. The Guinness Book of Records marked her as the most commercially successful performer of all time, and the authoritative Time magazine included Madonna in the list of the most influential women of the last century. Journalists have long called her the queen of pop music, but the path to this title was not easy for the singer.

Early loss
Madonna was born into a multinational family on August 16, 1958 in one of the towns on the shore of Lake Huron. Singer Madonna The girl was traditionally named after her mother, Madonna Louise Ciccone, who had French-Canadian roots, and her father was Italian-American. Madonna’s mother died of cancer shortly after the birth of her sixth child, and the girl’s rejection of the fact that God allowed her mother to die was a turning point in her life and influenced the singer’s work. After a couple of years, the father married again, but the stepmother mainly cared for her own children.

Madonna studied well at school, had a high IQ and was in good standing with teachers, for which her classmates did not like. Although she remained shy and even a little detached, she dressed modestly and avoided noisy companies.

Desire to stand out
Since childhood, the girl wanted to practice ballet, but was able to fulfill the dream only at 15 years old. Choreographer Christopher Flynn introduced her to the jazz modern, Madonna and ballet lead to classical concerts and exhibitions, trying to expand the horizons of the student. She continued her dance education at the University of Michigan, and took a budget place there. The choice of a “frivolous” profession further worsened the relationship of the future singer with her father. He wanted to see Madonna a lawyer or a doctor. The right to free higher education in the United States is given to units, including Madonna. She moved to a university dormitory full of hope for a bright future. Of course, in technical terms, she was inferior to many ballerinas, and this inability to be the best only strengthened her desire to additionally stand out in the ballet class. And it doesn’t matter if it is torn leotard or unwashed hair.

Starving Madonna
She spent her free time visiting clubs in Detroit. In one of these institutions, the singer Madonna, she made an acquaintance with a black drummer Stephen Bray, who became her future co-producer and co-author. Six months later, the girl got to the famous New York choreographer Pearl Lang for a master class. Madonna left the university and left for New York to enter her group. She managed to go through a hard casting, but she was not in the first roster. She did not have enough money to rent a house, so she earned money in a cafe. Sometimes, due to malnutrition, Madonna lost consciousness, then Lang arranged for her to work as a cloakroom worker for food in one of the restaurants.

From dancer to singer
At a dance audition for the tour of French singer Patrick Hernandez, Madonna liked the performance of his producers. singer MadonnaTe drew attention to the plastic girl and praised her pleasant voice, which was a complete surprise for her. The artist spent six months with a tour of Hernandez in Belgium, France and Tunisia. All this time, the producers convinced her of the promising career of the performer, but the young Madonna was passionate about punk rock and did not want to sing the disco pop that she was offered. She returned to New York, succumbing to the entreaties of her then boyfriend Dan Gilroy. It was he who had a huge influence on the girl – he taught him how to play the electric guitar and drums, taught the basics of composition. At first she was taken to Gilroy’s group, then she organized her own rock band.

Grammy and Golden Globe
Madonna was not afraid to touch upon bold and provocative topics in her work, disturbing the minds of not only fans, but also picky critics. Her fifth studio album, titled Erotica, took second place, and her next album, Bedtime Stories, became her first CD in 1994, and singer Madonna was nominated for a Grammy Award. The singer again changed her style and directed her work towards R’n’B and hip-hop.

The collection of ballads “Something to Remember” was not long in coming, the hit of which was the song “You’ll See”. This album reminded the public a little about Madonna’s talent as a producer and songwriter, because before that, the press relished only scandals around the singer’s name. Soon she played a major role in the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “Evita” and received for her “Golden Globe”.

An achievement in the personal life of the performer was the birth in October 1996 of the daughter of Lourdes. The girl’s father was a budding Cuban actor Carlos Leon. But seven months after the birth of the girl, Carlos and Madonna broke up.
